![]() News of Obama’s preference for the Hova over Kanye West made the rounds after his interview with The Atlantic last month, during which the President stood by his statement that West is a “jackass.” It’s nice to see Obama mixing up his musical influences Jay-Z has always been his go-to MC, a safe and solid choice when asked by interviewers about his favorite rappers. “You know they love the snowman in the White House. In any case, the rapper-who recorded his own tribute to Obama with “My President” during the 2008 election-was pleased. Kelly hook on “Go Getta,” while he’s getting ready in the morning? Or is he actually rapping, “No time for mistakes so I overplan/I’m in the club like what? 4, 5 with me/And I’mma stay thuggin’ till the feds come get me”? It was a funny joke, but it also left us wondering-exactly which Jeezy songs are in his repertoire? Is he singing the R. Then, turning to the First Lady, added, “I sing that to her sometimes.” In my second term, I’m going with Young Jeezy,” Obama joked. ![]() ![]() In fact, it turns out that Obama loves him some Young Jeezy-and maybe Michelle, too. Among many of the gems we gleaned from the President’s speech at this year’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, we learned that the main man isn’t limited to only singing Al Green covers.
